Four Considerations for Your Venue Search

Congratulations, you are engaged!! Now there are many things to think about: the theme, the colors, the guest list, but the most important is your venue! Exciting, right?! Maybe stressful, but it doesn’t have to be because we’re here to help you every step of the way!

There are Four important things to consider when selecting your wedding venue.

Budget

The average amount you can expect to spend on your venue is between 30-50% of your wedding budget. Look for venues that include additional services into the cost. At the Blossom Barn, we have a professional in-house Wedding Coordinator, assistance with design and décor, help with set up and tear down, and tables and chairs – all included in the cost of the venue. Some venues have an in-house bartender, some have in house catering, some are all inclusive, just find what works for you and make your dollar go as far as possible.

Remember that the venue will be in every picture, every memory, and will set the tone and theme for your wedding, so select a venue that you love and fits the tone of your wedding. Check out another one of our blogs that goes into detail on how to prioritize your finances ~Wedding Planning on a Budget~

Everyone has a different budget for their wedding day, and we will help you create your dream wedding and stay within yours.

Theme / Tone

We all dream of what our wedding could look like, but the venue will greatly influence the feel of your wedding. Do you want your wedding to feel like a grand ball or an intimate gathering, elegant or rustic? The venue sets the tone. You should select a venue that will meet your vision in décor and that has the feel you are looking for. Décor plays a substantial role in the theme and tone of your event. The better decorated and designed the venue is, the less expense you will have for additional decorations.

Location

The location of your venue is important, and not just for getting everyone there on time! The tone of your wedding is largely influenced by its surroundings. Do you want an outdoor feel? Then it should be out on its own; buildings and streets in the background of your photos can take away the natural feel. Do you want an elegant feel? Lots of natural light, and an intimate setting will lend to elegance. Do you want your wedding to feel like a grand ball? Accents and features in and around the venue may accomplish that (think crystal chandelier, staircase, marble statues). Should you select the Blossom Barn for your wedding experience, your guests are sure to appreciate the warmth, elegance, and ambiance that is an inherent part of the Blossom Barn experience.

Do you like the owners / staff?

Now this may seem out of place on this list, but hear me out. The owners of your venue will typically work closely with you before and on your Wedding Day. You want to work with people who are excited about your wedding, are asking what you want and have envisioned, and will help you make your vision a reality.

We at the Blossom Barn look forward to helping you have the most beautiful and memorable wedding experience possible.
